Pastels & Pencils (Ages 9+)
Discover the colorful world of drawing and illustration in this specialized art class designed for students ages 9 and up! Meeting weekly on Thursdays from 5:00-5:45 PM, this class focuses on developing artistic skills through the use of oil pastels, chalk pastels, and colored pencils.
Students will explore a variety of techniques unique to each medium, including blending, layering, shading, color theory, texture creation, and composition. Through guided instruction and creative projects, artists will build confidence while learning how to achieve vibrant colors, realistic details, and expressive artwork.
Throughout each session, students will complete a variety of projects designed to strengthen their technical skills and artistic understanding while encouraging creativity and personal expression. This class is ideal for both beginners and students looking to further develop their drawing and pastel techniques.
Session 1: Week of August 10th – Week of October 5th
(No class the week of September 14th)
Session 2: Week of October 12th – Week of December 7th
(No class the week of November 23rd)
Materials Fee:
A one-time $40 materials fee is required for all students. Each student will receive a high-quality set of oil pastels and colored pencils to keep and use throughout the class and for future artistic endeavors.
Parents are welcome to drop students off for class or relax in our waiting area during class time.
Refund and Cancellation Policy:
At The Painted Palmetto Art Studio, all payments for classes, camps, workshops, parties, private events, and deposits are non-refundable.
If you are unable to attend a class, camp, or workshop for which you have already registered, please contact us as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to issue a studio credit that can be applied toward another class or event of equal value and kind. Studio credits are issued at the discretion of The Painted Palmetto and are not guaranteed.
